Offit Kurman, a growing full-service law firm, is seeking an IT Security Administrator. The IT Security Administrator is responsible for the day-to-day monitoring, operation, and administration of the firm’s information security related systems as well as the development and support of the information security architecture that provides continuous protection of the firm’s confidential information. This includes the auditing, management and securing of systems and processes to ensure the integrity, confidentiality and availability of resources. This position is partially remote based in one of our offices between Philadelphia, PA and Bethesda, MD. Some travel, primarily day trips from the firm’s Baltimore/DC/Philadelphia offices is required.


RESPONSIBLITIES:

  • Install, administer, and troubleshoot enterprise security solutions recommending improvements where appropriate.
  • Monitor, investigate, and resolve security related alerts ensuring that systems and accounts remain secure.
  • Assist with the build, configuration, and troubleshooting of networks, servers, workstations, and applications.
  • Update assigned systems with the latest security patches ensuring proper defenses are present for each resource.
  • Create, analyze, and adjust access policies and authorization roles to defend against unauthorized access, modification, and destruction.
  • Provide compliance reporting related to patch status and mitigation of identified vulnerabilities.
  • Coordinate with vendors to perform vulnerability/penetration tests and develop remediation plans
  • Work with the IT Director on the establishment and maintenance of security policies and procedures ensuring that emerging regulations and security threats are identified and addressed.
  • Participate in the continual update and maintenance of disaster recovery protocols and organizational DR/BCP plans.
  • Manage organizational security policies, standards and guidelines overseeing their approval and publication.
  • Coordinate with the IT Director on response to client security related inquiries.
  • Partner with the Knowledge & Innovation team to educate teammates, coworkers, managers, and executives on security best practices and the benefits of moving to a security first approach.

QUALIFYING EXPERIENCE & SKILLS:

  • Four-year MIS, IT, CS or comparable degree or equivalent experience.
  • Certifications that demonstrate an understanding of systems management and security are a plus.
  • Minimum of three years of professional experience in enterprise systems administration or similar role.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of system fundamentals and ability to configure, install, troubleshoot, and maintain applications, workstations, servers, and networks.
  • Experience in Office 365, Microsoft Active Directory, group policy, and Windows Server Operating System configuration and administration required.
  • Prior management of Azure, AWS, and SaaS applications is a plus.
  • Strong knowledge of enterprise Information Security tools, processes, procedures, best practices, etc.
  • Experience working with products in the following categories: Cloud Security, IaaS and co-location data center security, Azure AD, Identity and Access Management, Vulnerability scanning and management, SIEM, PKI, Application control, Network segmentation.
  • Prior experience supporting audits and risk assessments required
  • Strong organizational, documentation, and time management skills able to prioritize work and meet competing deadlines.
  • Proactive self-starter with professional maturity, confidence, and a strong sense of ownership, accountability and follow-through.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills able to speak and write clearly on cybersecurity strategy and policy, as well as convey technical information to individuals of different levels of technical comprehension.
  • Focal point for response to all security incidents so must be able to work flexible hours, including nights and weekends.
  • Some travel, primarily day trips to the firm’s Baltimore/DC/Philadelphia offices.
